The wonderful world of Beatrix Potter–of Jemima Puddleduck, Peter Rabbit, Tom Kitten and over fifty over favorite animals–began over a hundred years ago, in Beatrix Potter’s parent’s London home with a variety of pets, and in the country houses of relatives and friends. The John Beswick Collection includes almost all the characters from the enchanting children’s books Beatrix Potter later wrote.
Beswick Beatrix Potter figurines were introduced to the world in 1948 thanks to the vision of Lucy Beswick. The family of porcelain figurines initially consisted of 10 characters from the author’s beloved series of children’s books. The first characters in the figurine series included reader favorites such as Peter Rabbit and Jemima Puddle-Duck. They proved to be quite popular with collectors and other characters were soon to follow much to the delight of collectors around the world. Today these whimsical figurines can command rather impressive prices and they’re definitely still a hit with collectors of fine porcelain figurines.
In this collection of 8 are two original 1948 Beswick “stars” Tom Kitten and Jemima Duck. Six other lovable animals made in 1982 include: Lord and Lady Woodmouse, Mr. And
Mrs. Apple, and Mr. and Mrs. Bunnykins.
These loveable little animals have been almost brought to life as beautifully hand-painted figures, varying in height from about 3.75 to 5 inches. They are ideal gifts for birthdays, Baby Shower Gifts, Christenings, Easter and all other occasions.
If purchased individually, you would pay between $320.00 – $450.00 for this entire set.
Each figurine is in excellent condition. No chips or cracks.

I have over 30 years experience in shopping and managing estate sales. I work with clients to determine the best pricing strategy for their prized possessions and best sales strategy. For high end items, I work exclusively online – targeting collectors who are looking to buy unique or rare items, who are willing to pay a fare market value. My sellers are no longer limited to a local market sales strategy – because I can help them market their items to collectors across the country. My buyers now have access to beautiful items from across the country – beautiful items that enhance their life style. I’ve been described as a match maker – helping people connect for mutual benefit. I consider myself an entrepreneur who sees the potential in every items I list for sale. My job is done when the match is made and both parties are satisfied.
