Description

This vintage Century design china from Salem China Co. includes 8 dinner plates. The pattern is elegant – a soft pastel floral bouquet in the middle surrounded by an inner gold band with an etched design and an outer deep burgundy band encrusted with a 23 karat gold filigree design.

This design was originally called Century Maroon but at some point in the past the pattern name was changed to Aristocrat Maroon. Indeed, the fruit bowl is newer than the other pieces and it is marked Aristocrat. By any name, however, it is beautiful. It was very difficult for me to show the true beauty of the gold filigree in the photos.

These pieces are in good vintage condition – with crackling in finish that comes with age. Referred to as clean crazing. I think it adds to the vintage look.

The dinner plates are 10 inches across

This china would look particularly lovely on a Holiday table.

I have over 30 years experience in shopping and managing estate sales.  I work with clients to determine the best pricing strategy for their prized possessions and best sales strategy.  For high end items, I work exclusively online – targeting collectors who are looking to buy unique or rare items, who are willing to pay a fare market value.  My sellers are no longer limited to a local market sales strategy – because I can help them market their items to collectors across the country.  My buyers now have access to beautiful items from across the country – beautiful items that enhance their life style.   I’ve been described as a match maker – helping people connect for mutual benefit.  I consider myself an entrepreneur who sees the potential in every items I list for sale.  My job is done when the match is made and both parties are satisfied.
